Advocacy For'u'm This is for all fellow advocates in all walks of life. We now have the opportunity as advocates to join together and express our views and experiences.
The forum will be held on a quarterly basis for personal development, to discuss ideas and generally share our different viewpoints within advocacy.
It is an exciting time for advocates at present with the new accredited courses and the Independent Mental Health Act Advocacy. We feel that we as advocates should take time to reflect on our roles and how better to do that than with other fellow advocates alike.
Our last meeting was a success in September. A ‘big’ thanks to the guys at Stockport Mind and their team of caterers for holding the venue it was perfect.
The feedback from the advocates who attended the forum was very positive.
The meeting scheduled for the 11th January 2009 has been cancelled due to the bad weather. The next meeting will now be on the 2nd June from 10am to 12 noon, here at the Mind office in Oldham.
Our guest speaker will be Martin Coyle who is the Head of Quality and Development for Action for Advocacy.
